The fruit is called Kiwifruit. But for some reasons American’s tend to call them (the fruit) kiwi, which is somewhat confusing.
Lord of the Rings was certainly filmed in New Zealand. Though without any involvement of the unicorns

No, the meadow is in Sydney. Some of the unicorns live in New Zealand which is why they don’t appear that often.

The meadow is in Sydney. Only 3 of the unicorns permanently live there along with the blue bucket. The rest are in different parts of the world including New Zealand and visit from time to time.
I hope the NZ unicorns weren’t affected by the earthquake! :c
